What does this mean? Here’s a more detailed explanation:

For the sake of comparison:
- I rate the Fourth Wing spice level as a 3 out of 5 as well, but that book felt more explicit, especially in the language and wording.

I personally prefer books with a spice level around a 1 or a 2, and I thought that the spice level of ACOTAR was just right! There’s a bit of it for those who like it, yet not too much for those who don’t.

ACOTAR’s age rating is for New Adults and Adults aged 18 and over due to some spicy scenes and adult content, including violence and death.
Personally, I would consider it for readers over age 16, but I would probably still remove the spiciest pages from the book. Otherwise, while there is violence and death, it feels like something a mature teen can potentially handle. After all, there is similar content in the children’s fairy tale, Beauty and the Beast, on which it is loosely based.
