Cozy Christmas / Holiday Outfits to Wear at Home

Share this post:

This year, given the continuation of the Coronavirus pandemic, so many of us will be on the hunt for Christmas / Holiday outfits to wear at home. Well, I happen to specialize in finding comfy clothes that still look chic and can be dressed up or down. Below are my favorites!

Holiday Outfits to Wear at Home

Barefoot Dreams Cardigan

One of my favorite things of all time

The uber-popular Barefoot Dreams cardigan is so warm and comfy, and I believe it lives up to the hype! It sort of feels like chenille and is just as cozy as everyone said it would be. You can dress it up over a dress or dress pants, or dress it down over your Christmas jammies. Either way, you will be so comfortable in it this holiday at home.

I find them to be true to size or a bit large. I purchased two for myself and two for no-fail holiday gifts!

Birdies Slippers

Birdies slippers are a cross between slippers and shoes. They look so high-end, yet are filled with 7 layers of cushion technology to combine the support of a sneaker, the softness of a slipper, and the style of a designer flat.

I wore a pair while getting ready in the bridal suite for my wedding, yet I have also often worn them out to work and dinner.

I prefer the Heron style best because I prefer a back to no back, and the dark velvet tones are so festive. No matter which ones you choose, you will exude both comfort and style this holiday, and while staying at home and all Winter!

I always size up one-half size in them.

Buying tip: Sales are rare (usually 2x a year), but if you sign up for Birdies email newsletter, you can usually get 10% off.

Dudley Stephens Fleece

One of my favorite things of all time

The bloggers' favorite Dudley Stephens fleece tops are so versatile and cozy and can be dressed up or down. You can wear them with holiday pajama pants or over faux leather leggings or a midi skirt for a comfortable dressy look this Christmas. The clean lines make them look so chic either way.

I wear the Greenpoint style because I like a lower boatneck in the Velo fleece (which is thicker and more like a traditional fleece than the terry) because I am always cold. I find it to be true to size.

Buying tip: Sales are VERY rare and new styles sell out VERY fast, but if you sign up for Dudley Stephens email newsletter, you can usually get 10% off.

Nothing says Christmas at home like festive pajamas! I have several favorite styles, but this year on Christmas morning I plan on wearing a pajama set from the Draper James X Lands End collaboration for a classic plaid holiday look. Draper James pajamas are always one of my top picks because they are super soft. I will wear them all day on Christmas Day while vegging out. They run true to size and have matching styles for the whole family!

I'm also a big fan of these specific J. Crew's eco dreamiest cotton pajama sets, and I have several pairs. I find they all run true to size. For more, check out my J.Crew Capsule Wardrobe ideas.

Spanx Leggings

One of my favorite things of all time

Spanx faux leather and velvet leggings are soo slimming with compression, and they are thick luxe, and perfect for a holiday indoors. My confidence goes way up when I put them on.

I find them to be worth every penny and, although the faux leather style is most popular, I actually prefer the velvet leggings. They will look dressy, yet feel so soft and cozy this Christmas at home.

I size up in them.

Best Christmas / Holiday Prints

Even if you are spending Christmas at home this year, you can still wear festive, classic prints to get in the holiday spirit. Check out my posts on the following prints you can mix and match with the styles suggested above, and then save for years of holidays to come!:

Those are the best holiday outfits to wear at home -- including all my favorite pieces of mine!

So, what am I wearing? I'm planning on wearing a tartan top with Spanx velvet leggings and Birdies slippers. If it's extra cold, I'll add a Dudley Stephens fleece or Barefoot Dreams cardigan. And then, I'll change into my pajama set!
