Are you confused by Audible’s new Audible Plus and Audible Premium Plus subscriptions? This post: answers frequently asked questions about Audible Plus and Audible Premium Plus, reviews both subscription services (I have used Audible for several years); and gives my personal picks for best of the Audible Plus catalog.
Frequently Asked Questions About Audible Plus and Audible Premium Plus
Audible Plus is Audible’s “unlimited listening” subscription service, by which members can listen to unlimited audiobooks, Audible Originals, podcasts, and more — as long as are part of the Audible Plus catalog.
Audible Premium Plus is Audible’s subscription service. Members get one credit per month, with which they can listen to any audiobook in Audible’s full catalog — not just the “Plus” catalog. Members of Audible Premium Plus also get access to unlimited listening to the Audible Plus catalog and exclusive discounts, including 30% off additional purchases each month.
The Audible Plus subscription allows unlimited listening — but only to the Audible Plus catalog. The biggest difference is the Audible Premium Plus also includes one credit per month for an audiobook of the member’s choice from the entire Audible catalog.
Audible Plus is worth it if you listen to more than one audiobook per month and you are pleased with the offerings in the Audible Plus catalog. It’s a good deal, comparable to similar services if you do not mind that you will not get to choose a book of your choice from the entire Audible catalog each month.
Audible Premium Plus is worth it if you want at least one audiobook of your choice each month at a discounted price. This is what Audible has always offered subscribers, along with exclusive discounts, and it is comparable to similar services. Access to the Audible Plus catalog for unlimited listening is a bonus that sets Audible apart from its competitors.

Or, if you still need more information, below is my review of Audible Plus / Audible Premium Plus and the audiobooks included in the Premium Plus catalog.
Review of Audible Plus / Audible Premium Plus
I have used several audiobook services, including Audible, for years.
My favorite things about Audible specifically are:
- the app, which allows you to fine-tune the speed very narrowly, and
- how easy it is to return audiobooks that you don’t like (for whatever reason, with just a few clicks).
I don’t have any complaints about the service.
The bottom line:
I see the addition of the Audible Plus catalog as a nice bonus for Audible Premium Plus members and as a cheap, alternative service for unlimited listening for Audible Plus members if they are pleased with the catalog offerings.
Personally, I see the catalog as fairly limited right now. However, it’s also possible to join Audible Plus for just a month or two and catch up on the audiobooks in which you are interested.
